I’m consistently disappointed by the appearance of most pet accessories. It seems like they’re all cheaply made of maroon, gray, or hunter green plastic, and more often than not I find myself wondering how I can mask or improve their appearance with fabric or spraypaint. Often times I simply give up, stick them in low traffic areas, and hope no one judges me too harshly for their ugliness.

However, I’d have no qualms about placing this egg house (seen over at Modern Cat) front and center in any room in my house. Too bad the company that sells it doesn’t ship outside Korea (though I probably couldn’t spare the $50 anyway at this point), so now I’m brainstorming as to how I could DIY one. The cushion would be a piece of cake, but I’m really stumped when it comes to the egg. Any ideas?
There are so many things that I love about this bed. I will ask Turbz if he could make something like this. He might be full of ideas.
I have been brainstorming as to how I could DIY this. The only thing I’ve come up with so far involves painting a huge gourd white. Do you know if gourds this big exist?

If you could lay hands on a reaaaaally big balloon, you could make one out of paper mache. Adding a little Elmer’s glue to the paste and then using brown paper bags makes for pretty strong stuff.
